Did you enjoy trying your hand at silversmithing through our Intro class? Here’s your chance to keep learning: Sept. 4, 1:00-4:00pm!
This class is a hands-on experience that will teach you to fabricate and finish a made-by-you stud earrings to bring home fresh out of the tumbler.
Skills learned will include:
Cleaning up two rough casting
Retexturing
Filing
Soldering posts
Cleaning up solder marks
Hallmarking
Polishing/tumble finishing
This class is taught by Metalsmith extraordinaire Theresa Applegate (www.theresaapplegatejewelry.com) who got her Bachelors in Metals and Jewelry at The Savannah College of Art & Design, did her graduate studies in Art Education at the University of Louisville, and has been an educator for over 15 years.
Class is limited to 4 students to maximize one-on-one instruction.
Class cost includes all tools and materials to create a finished pair of stud earrings to take home when they come out of the tumbler the next morning. Just send us a message if you have any questions!
To register, just add in the notes at checkout which specific tooth (e.g. Dainty A, Tiny B) that you would like & we will have the casting ready for you or reach out via email at blairkmorrow@gmail.com. (Tooth options are shown on pendants, though in this class we will be making a pair of stuff earrings.)
Changes to your tooth choice are accepted UNTIL the casting process begins.
Cancellation Policy:
Once the casting process has begun, there are no cancellations or refunds unless another student is willing to take your spot AND selected tooth.
